September 15, 2013 marked the beginning of the Student Orientation course. This course introduces the concepts of online learning to our students, and walks them through the workflow of receiving assignments and turning in their work digitally. A big part of all the HOPE School courses is online discussion. Just as in a face-to-face classroom, meaningful conversations between students and teachers are incredibly beneficial.
If our Day 1 activity and discussion is any indication, this will be a fantastic start to our new adventure together. Already in the discussion forum, we've seen students talk about the importance of risk-taking and need to follow through with commitments. Read below two quotes from our students sharing their ideas:
Please keep all of our students in your prayers as they begin this journey. They are indeed taking a risk by tackling something new like this. All of our students have agreed to commit to the school, even though they already have full-time jobs and many have families to tend to. We are thankful for them and their hearts for service and leadership. We pray that they always seek Jesus and the strength and wisdom only he can provide.
