SECTION DISCUSSION
Hello, HOPE School family. Let's talk about the discussion assignments for each section. Research shows us that learning happens best within the context of a team or cohort. at HOPE School, you will be surrounded by fellow learners and teaching staff every step of the way. There will be opportunities every week for you to interact with others who are learning the same things that you are. Every course has a discussion board that students will contribute to daily. This interaction is incredibly important to deepening your learning and understanding. It is expected that every student take turns posting and responding to the discussion.
In addition to the Canvas platform discussion boards, students will participate in WhatsApp group conversations and stay connected via social media. students will also be encouraged to attend face-to-face events, whether they are "Meet and Greets" or group study sessions or #ShareHOPE events. It is expected that every student posts and responds to the Canvas discussion several times each week. As you participate in these interactions, feel free to include your own opinions and respond to your classmates' posts, but keep in mind the high level of professionalism that is expected of all students. Different opinions are okay, negative talk is not.
Your participation in the class discussion can earn you a maximum of 30 points in each section, depending on the quality and quantity of your posts and comments. It is expected that you contribute at least 3 separate posts/replies to the discussion. Make sure to add to the conversation with each post, and not just agree with a previous post. Please make sure you are adding new ideas or developing others' ideas through your posts and replies. Students are expected to write their own thoughts in their own words. Don’t copy and paste from the section resources and don’t use AI to write for you.
