SECTION QUIZ
Hello, HOPE School family. Let's talk for just a moment about submitting your section quizzes. At the end of each section, there will be a brief quiz testing your understanding and application of the week's readings and videos. This quiz is intended to be a self-check for each student. You may use your notes during the quizzes and you are allowed up to five attempts at each quiz. No one else will know your quiz results, so please use these quizzes as an opportunity to honestly test yourself.
Remember that you can retest up to five times, keeping the highest grade. Quizzes are worth a maximum of 20 points per section. We hope that you will be determined enough to keep attempting the quizzes until you can earn a perfect score of 20 points. Your instructor wants to be able to award you full points for every activity in the course. If for some reason you don’t earn full points on an assignment, we will let you know what is lacking and give you the opportunity to correct your work and re-submit the assignment for full points. This is called Mastery Learning, where students continue to work until they have mastered the concept.
This method is much different than traditional classrooms where students are only allowed to turn in an assignment once, or allowed to turn in sub-standard work, but still “pass” the course. The goal here is to allow you the time and opportunity to master all concepts and earn full points in every section. HOPE School students should always be honest and forthright with course facilitators and instructors in matters pertaining to their academic progress. Submitting work that you did not do or copying work from another student is grounds for being dropped from the course.
Students are expected to do their own work and only submit work that they completed themselves.While working with other students is encouraged, sharing assignment notes and answers to quizzes with other students is not allowed. Everyone should do their own work. Do not attempt to turn in work that you did not do yourself.
